San Francisco Week in Shanghai

  

San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown led a delegation of 200 political, business and cultural leaders attending Shanghai's own tribute to its American sister city.  

The delegation -- the largest since President Bill Clinton's June trip to the country – went for San Francisco Week, set for Sept. 22-29 in Shanghai. Among those on the list are San Francisco Supervisor Sue Bierman and City Treasurer Susan Leal, Chief of Protocol Charlotte M. Schultz, and political activist Rev. Arnold Townsend. The delegation was made up of members and friends of the San Francisco-Shanghai Sister City Committee, including educators, government officials, community leaders, and corporate executives from San Francisco Bay Area.

Peter J. Gong, the VP and Secretary-General of CEA was invited to join the delegation and held the position as the co-chair of Economics and Trading Council of the delegation. He raised his request to Mayor Brown about the business assistance to Chinese companies in San Francisco during the economic and trading conference. He also inquired from Shanghai Mayor XU, Kuangdi the opening policies for the international investment in Shanghai. Accompanying Peter J. Gong, CEA Secretary Ms. Yang Yang is also the official delegate member. Another official delegate is attorney Mr. Michael Kross of BDO Seidman, LLP, a CEA member. Mr. DAI, Mingkang, the journalist of World Journal, CEA member, attended the most the of activities in Shanghai.
