Wall Street opens flat after corporate outlooks


Wall Street opened flat on Thursday after Texas Instruments Inc (TXN.N) raised its earnings forecast and data showed the number of people filing claims for jobless benefits fell last week.

The Dow Jones industrial average (.DJI) gained 4.69 points, or 0.05 percent, to 9,551.91. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index (.SPX) dropped 0.40 points, or 0.04 percent, to 1,032.97. The Nasdaq Composite Index (.IXIC) added 2.73 points, or 0.13 percent, to 2,063.12.
