China holds economic seminar

  

 

 

China's Jilin province hold a Jilin-Indonesia Economic and Trade Seminar in Jakarta on Tuesday, aiming to expand cooperation between entrepreneurs from the two sides.

    Chen Weizhen, the visiting deputy governor of the Northeast China's province, said that he expected Indonesian enterprises to invest in Jilin province, which has abundant natural resources and competitive industrial basis with great potential.

    He also said that the province will encourage Jilin's enterprises to invest in or build business relationship with Indonesia.

    "The communication and cooperation between Jilin and Indonesia keep expanding in recent years, with the trade value between the two sides growing 12.4 percent to 87.6 million U.S. dollars last year amid the global financial crisis," said Chen.

    He added that the seminar is aimed at introducing Jilin to Indonesian entrepreneurs and providing a platform for them to contact their Jilin counterparts.

    Chen also invited Indonesian entrepreneurs to attend the China Jilin-Northeast Asia Investment and Trade Expo in from Sept. 2 to Sept. 6 this year.

    The Jilin delegation led by Chen visited the Indonesian Industry Ministry on Monday. During the visit, Chen signed a memorandum of understanding with Indonesian Industry Minister Fachmi Idris. Under the memorandum, the two sides plan to establish a batch of cooperation projects, including Jilin will provide technological training for Indonesian workers.
